June,

I haven't figured out how to do a global addition of a date to your census
event(s) but this might speed things up... perhaps you are already doing it
this way...

If you have entered the census events as, say, "1901 England Census" then you
could do a Search to create a list of those.

Search/Detailed Search

Primary Condition:

          Look for: Individual

          Where to Look: Event Name

          How to Look: Equal

What to look for: 1901 England Census (or your wording)

Then go to the Search Results and edit each one and pasting in the correct
date. I was able to quickly update a number of mine, after the first one, by
clicking on the description "Date:" and using Alt-y to confirm "Replace
Contents".

My Event/Fact: is "1901 England Census - 31 March 1901" which serves as a handy
reminder as to the date I want to use (31 March 1901). although the 1901
England census actually took place over two days Sun 31 March - Mon 1 April
1901, however the above is close enough for me. I did use the too complicated
name of "1901 England Census: Sun-Mon 31 March-1 April 1901" then changed to
the above.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Adding Date to Census Event

I have entered census events to many of the people on my data base. Only
recently have I come across the dates of the British Census and I want to add
them to the event.

Do I actually have to go into each persons file, find each census and enter the
date manually, or is there a way in which I can enter the date so that each
time I use the event the date will appear.

Hope that makes sense.

Thank you – June
