Tagging was my first thought when I read your original post. A tag for
people you wanted to write about, maybe a tag for those you'd already
written up. But if you use tags for a lot of things you may not have one
or two to spare.

You could also use an event created for the purpose. Then you could
search for people with that event when you wanted to, display it in
Family View if you wanted to. Make notes for when you do get around to
that person, about how you want to do it or what to feature... you can
do whatever you want to do with an event.
