Pat, Are you just wanting to keep track of who you've blogged about? And who you think would be a good candidate for future blog posts? I would go with a "blog" event, private. Add the event when you select the ancestor, add a date when you've blogged about them. --P (I'm not sure I followed the post here about "date last did a full check"... unless you are talking about tracking research...?)
