In the Master Location List, go to Options > Expand/Contract Location Parts.
There's a selection to expand the locations, which will change TX to Texas. However you must have those locations in the four part format of city/town, county, state, country, with commas for missing elements otherwise this feature won't find them all correctly. You don't need to back up because you can undo by contracting location parts <g>. However, Bob gave some good info on the Search Replace feature, including the backup warning and confirming each change.
