Ann,

Normally you'd use the Legacy Export to export a selection of people to a
new file, but that export includes all data in the file.

You'll need to do a gedcom export. In the Gedcom Export window, click on
Customize and in the "Groups of items to EXCLUDE from Export" section,
select the items you don't want to include.

On the main Gedcom Export window, click on Record Selection to select the
Focus Group.

The only drawback is that sources will be imported in the Basic format, but
all the source data should be there.
