Pat, I am taking a stab in the dark here, but I have encountered weird errors 
in the past similar to this.  Apparently embedded invisible or null characters 
can be a factor.  So, you might try re-saving your document in the correct 
folder, even by temporarily giving it a different name, then delete the 
offending file and rename the newly saved file with your correct file name.  
Just a suggestion about the possibility of null characters you cannot see.
