I found the will of my ancestor, John Langston, at the SC Dept of Archives & History. The SCDAH has a database entitled "Will Transcripts 1782-1855"; what I am not sure about is what information to cite from the SCDAH in my source. It's not clear to me that the SCDAH has the actual wills. They refer to a Series, Reel & Frame number for the will which presumably references a microfilm; and also to an Estate Record Book number and pages therein, and an "Estate packet" which has an "Apt" number and a "File" number. I have no idea what "Apt" stands for. What is the pertinent information from this that I should be recording? Should I establish where the actual will is and base my source citation on that information? Lastly, is this question even appropriate for this forum, since it is not about Legacy software? I started to ask which template to use from the Source Writer, but realized I had even more basic questions which needed addressing first. Thanks for any direction anyone can offer.
