For those that are having problems with their ISP's server marking mail as JUNK
before you even retrieve anything, you might be better served if you disable
your ISP's spam filter entirely, download everything, and let your smart APP or
email client program apply your own filters.

The disadvantage of this is that you'll be amazed at the quantity of email you
now get with the vast majority of it ending up in your local JUNK filter. Those
that may still be on a slow connection or even dial-up may find this too time
consuming.

The advantage is that you can decide what is and what isn't to be treated as
junk, block all future mail from the same sender, and with a little practice
install your own filters which can separate your mail into different folders on
your local storage media.

Oh, one final caveat. If you are downloading everything, make sure you have a
good antivirus program which can sniff out your email attachments and links.

Like Wendy, I find that the group emails are often put into my junk folder ON
MY ISP's SERVER, and these are never downloaded to my local email program. I
have to periodically sign on to my email account through my browser to find
these. I can then mark them as "Not Spam."
Hopefully, at some point the ISP's junk mail filter will recognize my "Not
Spam" designation and no longer so designate them.

Depending on your local email program, it might have a setting to let you
download more than just the ones in the server "Inbox" folder, including the
remote "Junk" folder.
