Re lost family line and renumbered ancestors I did not use a Gedcom and yes I would not open up Legacy and use without doing a back up. Have heard too many horror stories and have 40 years of research on it. To return to an old file would be 200 certs back and the descendant report does not date them so I will have to look back at all my past files and open as a restore. I have a short cut to my Legacy on my desktop. Nothing explains the renumbering. Still confused Janet
