Further to Jenny's suggestion - make sure you are trying to open the Legacy 8 database. It could be that you are looking at the Legacy 7 file and therefore it doesn't recognize the format. Normally it would offer to do a conversion of the file.

Hello, all - Maybe someone can help me retrieve my Legacy 8.0. Something "happened" to my computer (Windows O.S. 8.1). For some reason the Desktop went blank. I restarted it and got everything back except Legacy 8.0. (I had kept my Legacy 7.5 and it was still there - as was everything else.) Here is the error # 302 along the top of the Dialog Box. However, here is the message within the Dialog Box: "Error opening Profile Data Base; error 3343: unrecognized data base format 'C:/users/Bruce/Documents/Legacy Family Tree_AppData/usr/Profile.dbm'. " It asks if I want to "retry", which I click on but I still get the same "error" message as above. Does anyone know what might have happened? More importantly, is there a way I can get Legacy back? Thank you for your in put.
