Hi John,

I'm not sure whether you are just wanting to check for missing media in
your current family file or whether you wonder whether other data may be
missing.

Concentrating on the Media. Have you discovered on the Tools Ribbon the
Media Relinker and the Gather My Media Tools?
These are both new to Legacy 8.
The Media Relinker will both tell you what broken media links you have,
give you a list, and a way to fix the links IF the media is actually on
your current computer with the same file name. It's the paths it's fixing.
The Gatherer then gives you a way to consolidate your media in one place
if it is scattered across your hard drive. If some or most of it is in
sub-folders of one folder, it can be set to leave them alone and only
gather those not in the sub-folder structure.

Legacy 8 in Options - Customise - 6.2 gives you a place to say where the
media should be (or the top folder if you use a number of sub-folders).
The Test All Media Files button there will also produce a list of
missing media.

For comparing files, you can have two files open at once with View -
Split Screen.
Also on the Tools Ribbon there is a Compare Two Files for Duplicates
Tool. I'm not familiar with how this works.
There is context sensitive help buttons on all screens.
