Hi Kathy, There is some advantage to having the images and other files attached to Legacy in their own file structure rather than mixed with images and files that will never be attached. One of the reasons I use a separate folder for pictures attached to Legacy is that I don't attach my archive copy of an image but a smaller copy. Legacy, for almost all purposes, doesn't need the size.
However, there is no need to use the Legacy default place for images. You just tell Legacy where your default place is, giving the top folder of your folder structure for images. (Options - Customise - 6.2) Mine is Dropbox\Legacy Pictures It started with just pictures but now includes other attached files in a series of sub-folders. Re your disconnect problem, Legacy 8 Media Relinker will relink the media provided you haven't changed the filenames. The Media Gatherer will Gather the attached Media to the folder of your choice. I don't have my Legacy databases in Dropbox but put my Legacy backups in Dropbox. Perhaps you have much better internet than I have. Friends who have kept their Legacy database in Dropbox have all needed help to sort out a mess of conflicted copies, I believe due to them using the file either on the same computer or another computer before Dropbox has finished syncing.
