Hi Alan,
All I know – having deemed that it is all I need to know – is that File Maintenance relates to maintaining the underlying actual files that comprise my family file as I see it. I don’t know what the actual steps are and it would be wrong of my to speculate. The best place to find out is to ask your question on the American Legacy Users Group mailing list which is monitored by the Millenia programmers. Join this group by going to www.legacyfamilytree.com <http://www.legacyfamilytree.com> and Help Centre and User Groups. I do know that if I run File Maintenance regularly as suggested by the programmers then it doesn’t take so long. Something like defragging my hard drive. I am interested in knowing this because it might suggest why this routine generally takes a lot more time over Steps 88 and 89 than any other steps.
