For the sort of notice you mention I do no enter anything in the Author fields and I put the column heading (which is usually "Births" or "Deaths" or "Marriages") in the Article field and the other Citation fields as expected. This gives me a Citation something like: ""Died," The Morning Post, 03 May 1824, p. 4, col. 6; digital images, FindMyPast (www.findmypast.co.uk : accessed 2 October 2012), The British Newspaper Archive." The exact text of the notice I copy into the Citation Text field.
