I recently switched from FTM 2010 by creating a GEDCOM and opening it in Legacy 8.0. All data seem to have been transferred OK but I'll be working through various issues for a long time.
Specifically, my Baptism events appear correctly in the Individual View with a date in the "Date" column and a location in the "Desc/Place/Notes" column. However, when I click the "Edit" button for the Baptism event, the location that transferred from FTM (and which DOES appear in the Individual View) is nowhere to be found. I want to find it so I can move it to its proper field, namely the "Place" field in the Baptism event. Any thoughts? This may be the tip of the iceberg for me. Looking at other Events, such as Residence, all of my location information from FTM now appears in the "Description" field while the "Location" field is blank. The display in the Individual View is OK because it looks like data from the "Description" and "Location" fields all appear under the "Desc/Place/Notes" column but I foresee a problem down the road.
