Thank you Wendy and Boyd.

When I went into that area again it still gave my name and then the number
15 in the Count colume. I then saw the refresh button, pressed that and it
gave a longer list of people with different numbers against them similar to
the one you showed me in your drop box Wendy. It also showed my name but
this time with 3701 in the count column (which is the number of people in my
tree).

That was so helpful because I then saw names of people (with either 1, or 4
or 13 in the count column) that I remembered I had put in thinking that
they were connected and meaning at some stage to go and find out how. But
over time I had forgotten those names and didn't know how to find them.

It just shows - it's always worth reading all messages, because you never
know what you may find out.

Thank you everyone - and Jane I hope it helps you as it has helped me.

Kind regards

June

Hi June,

Did your Tree Finder come up with something that looks like one of the
images here
<https://www.dropbox.com/s/58um20cgeckjuls/Screenshot%202016-02-27%2015.34.p
ng?dl=0>*
(full URL below)? I've taken these two from the Sample database (on the
left) and my own file (on the right) and combined them into one image for
easy comparison.

The numbers in [square brackets] are the RINs for the person named. The
number to the right, in the Count column, is the number of individuals in
that particular tree.

RIN = Record Identification Number, a unique number assigned to each person
in your file - it's an essential element of how the database works. So the
15, if it is in the square brackets next to your name, is the RIN assigned
to you in that file.

If the 15 is in the Count column, that is telling you that there are 15
people in that particular tree. Look at the image I mentioned at the start,
and you'll see there are 156 people in Asa Clark BROWN's tree, and four
other unlinked people. In my own file, there are 20999 people in my own
tree, and various other trees that are not linked to that main tree (that
perhaps I'll work out how they connect one day, if they do, and I can link
them together).

Jane Sarles - this is another way you can keep track of your unlinked family
if you choose to keep them in your main family file.

Hope this helps to explain what you're seeing. :-)

Wendy
