File size is not just the amount of people in your file. If you believe your file is to big because of additions/deletions then run a file>file maintenance>check/repair on your file (do this twice). Then run a file>file maintenance>compact file. This will remove anything not supposed to be in your file.
Please keep in mind that sources, notes, etc all play into your file size. I have seen customers with 300,000 people in their file over 1.3 GB's and I have seen customers with over a million people with just shy of a Gig. The big difference was that the 1.3 GB file had over 3 million sources and the other one had little to no source material.
