I use the program Doxillion Converter, but I'm sure there are other programs for converting the bmp to pdf. I hope it works. I was able to fix the issue by using the wall charts, selecting the descendants option, exporting it as a BMP, and then converting that to a PDF. I got an error message when I clicked on PDF, and someone had written to me about this, saying that the inability to select PDF is a glitch in the program. Again thank you for having taken the time to write. Shirley On Tue, Jun 7, 2016 at 12:35 PM, Susan Osborne <[email protected]> wrote: Which version of Legacy do you have? But if you have a PDF printer on your computer you can print to PDF. It's best to change to a suitable paper size for the chart though there are ways to put smaller PDF pages together and print a wall chart. However, since its wanted on a computer screen, choosing the right paper size would help. Does your client realise that for the number of people she can't see it all on the computer screen at once? Cathy Shirley Brodt wrote: Hi Sue, Thanks for replying. I need the final format for emailing. My client wants to email the chart to family members, but when I saved it as a jpg and sent it to her, it was unreadable although it was very clear on my computer. I tried to save it as a png, but that resulted in the s ame problem. I also clicked on PDF, but for some reason, Legacy didn't allow that format. I appreciate your having replied. It's interesting that you used the Legacy charting instead of TreeDraw. I also produced the Legacy chart, which spans several pages, but the customer for whom I'm doing this work wants the 5 generations, with tons of offspring, on one page -- now that's a problem that I'll figure out one way or another. Thanks again for replying. I have TreeDraw but I recently used the charting & nbsp; within Legacy to produce the family tree with all names including spouses on it for a family reunion. All on one chart in 8pt font spreading many metres around 3 walls of a large hall. I thought it better than charts I could get out of TreeDraw for the purpose We also used some nice charts from TreeDraw I should add Its horses for courses Cheers Stan *From:*LegacyUserGroup [mailto:<mailto:[email protected]>[email protected]   ; <mailto:[email protected]>] *On Behalf Of *Shirley Brodt *Sent:* Friday, 3 June 2016 1:49 p.m. *To:* Legacy User Group <<mailto:[email protected]>[email protected] <mailto:[email protected]>> *Subject:* Re: [LegacyUG] Complete Family Tree Hi R G, Thanks for replying. I tried the Legacy Charting options, but for some reason only the current record names appear. The only chart that works with all records is the Descendant chart under Chart Reports, which appearance is not what I'm looking for. I think I might have to bu y TreeDraw Legacy for all the entries to appear properly. You say that none of the chart programs work well, so I'm a bit confused. In my online search, the solution that was shown was the TreeDraw program, in which one could format the lines, fonts, colours, etc. once it imports the data from Legacy. If you have a chance, I'd appreciate your feedback on this. Thanks again for taking the time to reply. My experience with any of the charting programs, you will only be able to use maybe &nb sp; 4-5 generations and beyond that you are creating such a large chart, you can't see or print it on any reasonable size of paper or poster. I have about 40,000 people in my database and anything over about 4-5 generations is too large to use. Some of my families go back 15-20 generations. In Legacy, you can create a chart of Fathers only &n bsp; that would span that many generations. In Legacy, use the Legacy Charting icon to the right of the Internet icon and you can plot lots of different charts. I would suggest you try some of those before purchasing other software. In some of my testing of Legacy Charting, I have created charts of over 100 generations. The problem is, you cannot print that size of chart - it is just a paper generator. If you only have a few people in your database with only 3-4 generations, then you could chart something useful to be printed. Anyway, just my thoughts, you won't be happy with what you are asking for.
