Go to the folder where your family file is stored. Delete all the .ldb file(s) you find there. Those should be deleted automatically when Legacy closes but if you had an abnormal shutdown they can be left behind. The .ldb file tells legacy a database is in use and can prevent Legacy from opening the file during startup.
