In the Detailed Search, you can search Master Source or Source Citation but I don't know whether it includes the name of an attachment.

There's also the Source Citation report. Saved as a PDF it can be searched.

Sorry about that. My set-up is slightly different because I have
"Search" on My Toolbar and it opens that tabbed screen directly. I see
now that using the Search on the menu bar gives an extra step - I had
forgotten that.

Thanks, Jenny - just one small correction to your advice (it perplexed me
awhile): Search, then Find opens a form on which Missing Sources is
available.
I'm continually impressed by what is available in this software.

If you go to Search you will find one of the tabs is labelled "Missing
Sources" and there are lots of options there.

Or, to search all persons for a particular string within the Source
'attachments' ?

Use Search& Replace. In "Find Where" you will need to select the
appropriate field, beginning "Source..." if the word is included in the
Master Source, or beginning "Citation..." if the word is included in the
Source Details.

My reason for asking is to locate in my Legacy data some imported or merged persons that resulted from matching with tree information from online sources (eg, Ancestry of FamilySearch).
