Thelma,
One of the things that make email lists so frustrating is when people
highjack threads. Start new emails for new topics, don't just change the
subject line.
And before anyone comments - yes this happens on FB as well but not so much.
Thelma - re your problems - contact support direct.

Your database probably has a locking file left behind from the crash.
Simply
use Windows/File Explorer to locate the folder in which your database
file
is stored. Look for a small 1K file with the same name but has a .LDB
file
extension. Do NOT delete your main database file. Now try Legacy again.
If you don't know the exact folder in which your database is stored,
then
just try a search of your computer looking for "*.LDB". Remember the
locking
file that you are looking for will have the same exact name as you
database
file...only the extension will be .LDB. If you search your entire
computer
you may come up with other .LDB files usually from Google and Chrome,
and
perhaps some anti-virus software you may be using. Leave those files
alone.

I have been using Legacy for 4 years without any problems.
Suddenly my program crashed.
I tried to do 'check and repair' and 'compact' my database
I get error messages # 3265, 3800, & 3356
Error rebuilding index - IDNX is not an index in this table
Attempt to open a database already open.
Any suggestions?
Thanks for help,

Is it possible to create a gedcom using only one surname and include
all descendants and all ancestors of everyone with the same surname?
Help appreciated.
