I'm not sure how to proceed with an artefact of my few months of using
Legacy Family Tree (v8, Deluxe). So I am seeking advice.

In my Legacy Family file (project), I have one quite large Tree and, for
reasons I will explain, 3 other Trees with from 6 to 22 members. One of
these Trees which I will call "Wilson", actually comprises 20 members who
are all contained within the large ("Main") Tree; I have checked that their
RIN are the same as those in "Main" - there are not 2 separate records for
each person.

The "Wilson" Tree started with one of my great-grandfathers, and is separate
from the "Main" Tree because I had difficulties in establishing the
connection, and split a handful of people from "Main" while I checked more
thoroughly - and in the process, it accumulated a few extra people
(siblings, female parents without maiden names, etc).

Subsequently, I corrected some wrong information and found that the "Wilson"
great-grandfather indeed does fit my "Main" Tree, and I reconnected. So,
"Wilson" Tree is superfluous, but the 20 people are "needed".

I fear that deleting the entire "Wilson" Tree will remove 20 persons from my
"Main" Tree, and require re-entry of those 20 persons; but I would like to
remove the "Wilson" Tree for tidiness. Is there another solution?

The other small Trees of 6 and 22 members arose when I split off false
branches on my "Main", having determined that they were unrelated. These 2
Trees could be deleted, but are of interest and could be put into separate
"projects" (Legacy Family file databases, .fdb). Not a problem.

Thanks
