Thanks, Judy. I will follow up the link you gave me.

Of course I did my own online search (not a Google user, however) and found
this link -

http://www.bl.uk/eresources/newspapers/colindale2.html

which does include John Bull from the 19th century, but as I am in
Melbourne, Australia I can't get to a British Library workstation easily :)
- and it is an 1954 article that I want to see.

Full-text, word-searchable newspapers and journals

Owing to licensing restrictions, these resources can only be accessed from
British Library workstations within our London Reading Rooms.

However, this source may be of interest to others on this email list (though
I do realise that this specific search for John Bull illustrated
magazines/newspapers is not relevant to Legacy Family Tree software; so I
will leave it at that)

I did a little research and found out that the Advertising Archives
http://www.advertisingarchives.co.uk/en/page/show_home_page.html has
exclusive rights to the John Bull magazine since the magazine folded circa
1964

I searched the site for 1954 and there are quite a few magazine covers that
come up, but I could not tell if any were for July.

There is a small note at the bottom for help (in the UK I am guessing) They
MIGHT be able to locate the article you are seeking.

Best of luck in your research!!

This is off-topic, but can anyone give me an idea of where to search through
"John Bull" newspaper or illustrated magazine? I'm looking for an article in
the 3 July 1954 issue. It would be an English publication, though the
article is about Australia.

Thx
