When you say "users manual" are you referring to the manual for Legacy? Of
course, once you transfer the pictures into Legacy, the gedcom program you
refer to is of no further use.

You refer to "sample" it sounds like you are using the "Sample" folder as a
repository for your pictures being imported into Legacy. May I suggest
creating a new folder that is meaningful for what you are importing? I have
several databases that I maintain in Legacy, each with a separate Media
folder.

If you do that, you will have to do some tweaking to reflect the change as
to where the pictures are being stored. If you decide to do that, perhaps
starting over would be easier. In that case, before importing the pictures
etc, you should create folder names to match the name you choose for the
main database.
