Hi Roxanne

Legacy’s requirements for CPU and memory is minimal, so any
current PC will do the job. If you get a PC with multiple display ports on the
motherboard you should not need a graphics card, unless you actually need one –
games, photo, video or audio editing, CAD design, etc..

Not certain if an all-in-one PC supports additional monitors,
so you will need check that out.

The best part of using two monitors, or one large one, is that
it allows you to get both the Legacy display and web browser visible and large
at the same time. I am running with a pair of Dell 24” monitors, through a
GTX1060 graphics card because I do run games and photo editing.

Regards

Chris

Hello! I am new to the forum. Q: I plan to move fr on laptop to dual monitor
all in one desktop soon. Has the group arrived on any consensus regarding best
hardware and system requirements? Or would a tower be preferable? I am set on
the Intel I7 processor. What do you feel is required RAM? And under to move
between 2 screens I need a specia l videoi card? I will be in BCG classes via
webinar. 27" screen and one smaller? Hope I'm not being too redundant.

Thank you all.

Roxanne

Luggers:

Before the subject was hijacked on 7 September, this thread talked about
swapping split screen windows (on a single monitor, I thought) which was of
interest to me. There were three emails on the topic at the start. Were there
any more after 7 September 2017?

Thanks. Someone else told me what to do and I can now move Legacy from one
monitor to the other by clicking on those 2 little squares.

This group is great; always someone to help you.

Roberta you should be able to move Legacy as well, unless you have legacy newer
than 8 in which case it might be different. I have Legacy 8. On the top right
hand corner there should 3 spots, the one in the middle will make legacy
smaller and will allow you to drag the program to the other monitor.

Just love what I can do with it. Only think that I can't move over the the old
monitor is Legacy so, if I am searching Ancestry and find something of
interest, I simply move Ancestry over to the old monitor, then record what I
found (after checking out what I find) in my Legacy Family Tree.

There isn't a shortcut to swap but you can drag and resize those two windows
and so you can swap their sides.

Better is to know which file you want on which side. If the one you're in when
you go to Split Screen isn't the one you want on the left, when asked whether
to open another file, simply say No and then highlight the left window and use
File - Open file to open the one you want.

I use the split screen view a lot with 2 different files open when

Is there a shortcut to swap the contents of the 2 side by side windows
(L<-- ->R) please?
