Cheryl,
If you need to use a variety of Advanced tagging options to get the group of people you want to export, you just use the same tag number for each. Then you export the tagged group.

Sometimes the easiest way to get most of the people you want is to set relationships to a key person for the group you want to export and then search for Individual - Relationship - equal to - Related and tag them. You'll want in the export to add the surrounding parents, spouses and children with the checkboxes in the box where you say which tag group to export.

I'll try that. Thanks.

No. My example was for descendants, but you can use the same
Tagging feature, only start by Tagging ancestors first. Tag any
sections, ancestors, and/or descendants, and/or individuals, and
then go to Export, and choose All records with an individual tag
of: (select the Tag number you used), and start the export.

Be happy. :-)

If I use tagging I would need to export a file for each
furthest ancestor and then merge them, no?

The best method is to use the Tagging features. I often
do this
in a way to include spouse's parents. If you first Tag all
descendants, and then go to export, the program gives you the
option of selecting all records with an individual Tag of: All
their Spouses, and/or all their Children, and/or all their
Parents. If you want to include other sections, then Tag them
too, before exporting. If you want to also include or
exclude any
particular records before exporting, then you can do it
manually,
one-by-one, if you want.

After you export your file, open it, and see if it
includes all
those you wanted. Also go to the View menu, and select
Trees, to
make sure you succeeded in getting them all into one tree,
assuming that was your intent.

Happy Exporting. :-)

I want to export a section of my file specific to my
cousin.
She's new to this, doesn't want or need my people who
aren't
related to her. I've tried a couple things but haven't
gotten
what I want. I am thinking it will involve a focus
group. If I
use an Individual and Ancestors it does not include the
collaterals. I would like to start with the youngest
person,
include their ancestors but also their ancestors' spouses,
siblings, etc. Is there a way to do this?
