I have one such terrible, immoral union in my family, and I have just added one partner on the “wrong” side, and then have to put up with “error” conditions when I do a file check. They don’t have kids so I haven’t got to that part yet.

In the wake of intense campaign in Australia for same-sex marriage, and associated discussions, I have been meaning to ask whether Legacy has any discussion articles that can help answer how to deal with such unions and children (however they arise). Apart from the obvious same gender on each side of a marriage, does Legacy “know what to do” when a child is added? Or is it necessary to add notes or events to clarify this – both for the user / viewer of the database, and for various type of reporting? These situations / questions may arise within my extended families sometime, so should I be able to manage them? Ian Thomas Albert Park, Victoria 3206 Australia
