When all else fails I suggest trying File > File Maintenance, that will
sometimes correct weird behaviour.
Deleting and recreating the event might also work but that will remove
it from everyone and you will have to link the recreated event to all
those currently using the problem event. If it is only used by one or
two that might be worth the effort.
