There are two settings you may want to look at.
1. Ancestor Colours can be applied to search and name lists, this adds
colours to the backgrounds of the list.
2. The colours used by the Genders are applied to the colours of the text.
To change the Gender Colours
Options > Change colours
Right click on anyone's name
Female Name text is the red one so you will want to change that colour
by clicking on the set text colour button.
The Ancestor colour coding options and the views where they are used are
controlled by Options > Customize Section 8.3. To remove them from
search lists turn off the colours in name lists. To change the colours
used click the Change colours button.
