Gail,
If you've looked at your autosomal DNA results you will realise that you
can't enter them in the same way as you can enter Y or mtDNA tests. The
results are about 5 MB of text not just a few values.
So enter Events and, if you want, link to the DNA file you download.
I have a DNA test event that I add to people I discover have tested. I
record who they've tested with there. I also hashtag them with DNA test.
I guess I could have multiple hashtags for the various sites.
I have a DNA match event where I record notes about the match - number
of cM etc though I'm using DNA Painter now more for that information
where it is sorted in useful groups.
I also have a series of hashtags so I can see the verified line between
me and the match. I do that like this: With DNA matches I'm using the
Relationship Calculator to find the path back to the MRCA (most recent
common ancestor) for me and the match and then clicking the Options
button on the Relationship Calculator to tag the people on an empty tag #.
Then I go to the Name List. Click Search - Show all tagged # and then
assign a hashtag to them. eg MRCA - CLARK-CRAIG with the full names of
the ancestors in the hashtag description if necessary. This is similar
to what Michele describes here
"http://news.legacyfamilytree.com/legacy_news/2017/08/how-i-use-hashtags-to-track-my-dna-matches.html"
I also have another hashtag I attach to people who have done a DNA test.
So a search for those with Hashtag DNA test AND one of my MRCA hashtags
tells me how many people I have to help verify the line. eg to
CLARK-CRAIG I have only one (few of my Clark relations seem to have
tested) but for the generation back CRAIG-HOUSTON, I have 5, not
including me.
When I'm happy a direct ancestor has been confirmed via DNA matches I'm
using the AFN box to record that. There's good help in the WikiTree help
on what is required for DNA verification.

Hello, I have the Deluxe version and want to enter all my DNA
Autosomal matches from Ancestry. When I go into the “Available Tests”,
this is not listed – there are only tests which Ancestry no longer
offer.I don’t want to test just my matrilineal line and have only had
one male tested for a patrilineal line. It was too disappointing to
test any more uncles.
Thank goodness that my Excel spreadsheets generally meet my needs so
far, but it should also be possible to use Legacy for DNA results,
with the amount of shared dna and to be able to run reports just for
the matches.I notice that the FamilyTree DNA tests include up to the
Y_DNA 111 Marker, so I’m surprised that it is updated but Ancestry is
not. Also, why isn’t GEDMATCH listed as an available "test"?I plan to
start using that more in the next few months so that I can use DNA
Painter etc.

Gail Vincent
