Gene,

I pointed you to a particular settings file to delete. All you will lose is the Windows sizes and positions you prefer.

The only way to lose your work is to delete your family file fdb file which, wherever you keep it, will be in a completely different folder.
The default is
"...\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Data\"

But if you don't understand how things are stored on your computer and how to use Windows File Explorer, perhaps you shouldn't try. Someone else could do it for you.

This may be a stupid question but won’t we lose what we’ve gained

and start all over from the beginning??

If you want to return Legacy windows to their default position and size,

you can delete this file when Legacy is closed.

While on the subject of windows doing erratic things, anyone else

Have the problem of when you open “Check/Repair”, that window

and subsequent windows slides almost completely off the screen??

Dragging it back all the time is annoying at best.

Here's my suggestions on the resizing problem. The small increments option rarely, if ever, works for me.

There are a variety of things that help with this intermittent problem of not being able to resize the Legacy window.
1) close and reopen Legacy and try again.
2) make sure other windows behind it are minimised before trying.
3) try a different side or corner to drag.
4) keep it away from corners and sides of the screen (I think the problem may be to do with the snap features so it might be worth trying with these turned off. Some say that doing it in smaller increments works but I've never found that. One of the above always works for me.
