Paul,
How had you "checked on my file at Legacy 9"?
Do you know what folder the files were in?
Where have you found just the Sample file? I ask as it's in two places
on your computer and you *may* have gone to the wrong place.
The Sample file that you would open is at
C:\Users\<yourusername>\Documents\Legacy Family Tree\Data\
The bit before \Documents\ can be different if you have properly moved
the Windows Document folder using the Locations tab of the Properties
dialogue for it.
There is also a Sample file hidden among the Program Files for Legacy.
In Legacy there is a Recent File list. It's normally under the L in the
top left corner. If you can see your file in that list, just click it.
Here's an article to help you re-find your file.

If you use the search for files and it freezes see:
<http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-01061/11/Error-Messages-Problems/Media-relinker-Freezing-crashing.html>
This talks about the Media Relinker but also applies to the search for
Legacy files.
Hope that helps,
Cathy

Hi Cathy. How can I Replace files at Legacy 9. I was working on my
computer this morning and I had checked on my file at Legacy 9 and
went on to look at my Emails and all of a sudden I lost my Legacy
files from the master file. There were 5 separate files there and
only one left and it is the Sample file of Geoff Rasmussen's. I had
them on backup but they were no longer there- the names were gone. I
also have a Backup via an External Hard Drive as well, but NOTHING
LEFT but the one file. I have lost approx. 26000 names that I have
filed over the last 8 months. I NEED HELP !!!! Thank you for what
you can do for me. Sincere Best Wishes, Paul Morris Hilton
