Download the GEDcom from Family Search and save to your computer in a convenient location that you will remember.
Open Legacy. If it opens with your family file go to file > close file and close the file, leaving Legacy open. Go to file > New File and select the radio button labeled "No thanks. Please create a new empty family file and I'll do the rest." When you select finish, it will prompt you for a file name and save location. Write down what you choose so you can find it again. You can then import the downloaded GEDcom into the new file. On 12/1/2018 4:36 PM, Susan Nielsen wrote:
Hello, and thank you for being willing to help me. I've been trying for hours to figure out how to *import from Family Search Family Tree into Legacy*, to create a new file. I've followed the instructions that I found at _http://support.legacyfamilytree.com/article/AA-00941/0/How-to-download-your-ancestors-from-FamilySearch-Family-Tree-into-Legacy.html_ _ _ import to legacy.JPG In the "Guided Startup Wizard, there is no "Download my family from FamilySearch". Yes, I have just downloaded the newest update, Build Date of Nov 21, 2018. What am I missing or how do I go about this? Thank you in advance, Susan
