Download the GEDcom from Family Search and save to your computer in a
convenient location that you will remember.

Open Legacy. If it opens with your family file go to file > close file and
close the file, leaving Legacy open.

Go to file > New File and select the radio button labeled "No thanks. Please create
a new empty family file and I'll do the rest."

When you select finish, it will prompt you for a file name and save location.
Write down what you choose so you can find it again.

You can then import the downloaded GEDcom into the new file.

Hello, and thank you for being willing to help me.
I've been trying for hours to figure out how to *import from Family Search
Family Tree into Legacy*, to create a new file. I've followed the instructions
that I found at

In the "Guided Startup Wizard, there is no "Download my family from
FamilySearch".
Yes, I have just downloaded the newest update, Build Date of Nov 21, 2018.
What am I missing or how do I go about this?
Thank you in advance,
Susan
