Jenny,

The include entire line option will not limit it to only the grandfather's ancestors. That option will come down to the person then, in going back up from that point will include all the other grandparent lines. I find that that the include entire line option frequently includes everyone in the file except those in unconnected trees.

It is probably better to use two focus groups.

The first will include the person (grandfather) and their ancestors using the options to include other spouses and include siblings with spouses of siblings The second will include the same grandfather and their descendants with the option to include Descendants.

When that set is used the export will include only the ancestors of the grandfather and only his descendants.

I need help in making a list of grandfathers ancestors so that I can export a Legacy file to a family member.

Can this list include all ancestors children and their descendent?

If, like me, you have included an "identifier" in the UserId which indicates which of my 4 grandparent lines every individual belongs to, it is very easy to extract a complete line by searching for all those with the appropriate UserID.

Otherwise I would create a Focus Group - View>Focus Group>Add an Individual and Entire Family Line.  You can then go to File>Export and select GEDCOM or Legacy and chose the Focus Group you have just created as the records to export.
