Your problem is in thinking of a Gedcom as a "Report", which it is not.
It is actual records presented in a generic way.
To export a Gedcom you need to go to File>Export>Gedcom file. To get
the particular records you want, from Record Selection select "Selected
records contained in the Focus Group" and then click on Create Focus
Group. From there, select either "Add an individual and ancestors" or
"Add an individual and descendants."
That's a basic overview of the process. I suggest you start to work
through it and then come back for more help if the need arises along the
way.
