I can't be of much help, I'm afraid, as I just followed your steps and
it worked fine. One thing you didn't mention is a small info screen at
the end telling you that the Gedcom export was complete, so presumably
you didn't get this. (I nearly missed it because it came up on my 2nd
monitor which was switched off so I thought nothing had happened at
first because the initial screen was still showing!)
