Hi Everyone. I have a question about deleting a Family File. The
instructions in Help are easy but I want to make sure of what else I am
deleting. Here is the situation.
In Jan 2022 I purchased a new laptop PC. I had a lot of problems with it. I
took a backup before hand of everything on a seperate hard drive and the
old PC also had a copy of everything. Support in both the manufacturer and
Windows worked on it. Windows Support on two different occasions replaced
the Windows 10 program. As you know even though you are prepared this is
devastating. In the end the manufacturer agreed to take the PC back for a
full return of funds and I purchased a PC of a different manufacturer. The
new one is running perfectly fine. I didn't lose any data but deleting and
reinstalling the Windows 10 twice as I mentioned left me with two
additional copies of a family file, shown as Copy and Copy 2.
With *copy" Family open when I click on DELETE FAMILY FILE. and it does so,
and follow up with deleting Family "copy 2" my question is:
Question-will the actual file still remain in documents in the "Legacy
Family File."? That is what I want to end up with. I also have the original
of this family still in tack and go to it once in a while. I don't want
both copies shown on the list of family files.
I am just being cautious so I don't delete the whole family.
I will appreciate all thoughts sent me.
