Ian,

FYI you can then put the parents in the family view and then on the child list you can show the relationships to the parents ie biological, adopted, etc. Then you can source the relationship. I didn't know if you knew that feature as well more info in the help file on child list display by right or left clicking on the left margin of the list to get the popups. Hope that makes sense.

I agree with Kathy since the bloodline is from the biological parents and not the adoptive parents.
