If you intend to help someone else find the source in the future, it really
could matter. If you are making photocopies, include one of the title page,
and the back of that page (verso), if something is printed there (or hand
copy the important information).
There is often a page printed with just the title which precedes the
actual title page, so be sure you have the right one. The "Title Page"
includes at the minimum the title, and the author, [or editor, compiler, or
publisher] as the main entry. It may include an illustrator/photographer,
subtitle, date, publisher, printer, or anything else the composer wished to
place there. Sometimes all the information is on this one page, but for
most professionally published books, the verso usually includes the
publisher, copyright information, the ISBN number (International Standard
Book Number), & the Library of Congress number, and often includes full LC
cataloging information, which will tell you what was selected as the main
entry. Virginia
