Lucas,
I suspect you are working from the "add" item on the menu bar, where there
is no feature to add parents. Instead, try right-clicking your mouse on the
child's name, and "add" will be an option. Slide down to that, and the
options come up, and will include the option to add parents.
Sorry - I always add people that way, and hadn't noticed that the "add"
feature from the menu bar didn't also have that option.
