David - It is my understanding that Legacy "does not" support split citation
details, although someone seemed to imply that the program did.  My response
was to that message about "having as many details as I want" (which is, of
course, not the same thing as split citation details).

Split citations are used only  to control the details of your citation and
where they print in any output forms you use, i.e., reports.  And, actually
whether any print or not can be controlled further by sensitivity brackets
which can be overridden.  In that regard, you could actually use them as
notes within the parameters of the source material and not ever have them
print unless you wanted them to.  Some people use a CD for something like a
PIN which is a reference to a document numbering system they use for their
own paper files.  Then if they want, they can print it out for their use or
hide it for reports that they are are doing to share.

I am hopeful that Legacy will adopt the split citation convention.
