"At" would be preferable to "in", but "near" , "of", "from" could have value in certain circumstances.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Location Prepositions

Legacy appears to automatically preceed the preposition "in" before location names as they appear in various reports, as in "Mary was born on 4 July 1957 in Los Angeles," etc.

How do you handle those location where you wish to say "near" Los Angeles, "of" Los Angeles, etc.

I have been creating a new place name "near Los Angeles" but this is resulting in a lot of additional place names.  Of course I usually am happy with "in Los Angeles," but it would be nice to be able to alter the preposition as appropriate without needing to create a whole new place name.  (Besides, even when creating a new place name it comes out something like, "Mary was born on 4 July 1957 in near Los Angeles....."

Just curious how others handle this.  Perhaps I've missed something somewhere.
