Raquel, On the Detailed Search tab, to look for marriages before/after a certain date, you have to change the "Look for Whom" box to Marriage - it sounds like you have it set to Individual. Then the "Where to Look" box will contain "Marriage Date" on its list, and you can set the date in the next 2 boxes, as "After 1820", for example.
