My question about the QUESTION is: what's the problem? The answer is elementary - just report the facts. Some may need help with terminology. 1. A child created by other than the "approved" method of procreation has no reason for embarrassment. I would not "sweeten" records to make him think he had cause to be ashamed. Even more, I have not. 2. Based on the circumstances of the actual procreation, the parents were not embarrassed at the moment. If they suffer remorse, it's the price they have to pay. Why should they, or we, escape judgement? 3. My gg grandfather had either 4 or 5 children by three ladies before he did the "I do" thing. I can only say "WOW" and report it as it happened. That's not justification - I just don't have the right to alter the facts or report them dishonestly. When using Legacy for genealogy, if we remember to report the facts they way they occur, a large percentage of our questions will be unnecessary. It's only when we spray facts with a PC deodorant, instead of being honest, that we create problems for which no universally happy solution exists.
