The
Legacy Charting Companion allows you to produce ancestor charts with
siblings. I am actually thinking of
switching from TMG to Legacy just because of this program.
I find my family loves to see the aunts and uncles on the ancestor
charts. I get the best stories when
I show them these charts. They are also very useful for
research – I can see the sibling names – which helps
on census reports, wills, etc – to ensure I am really looking at my
family.
And the descendant chart allows an option
for female lines.
The only program I know of that does the ‘everyone
on the database’ chart is Family Tree Maker. There may be other charting programs
that do it – it is not a chart I use – it is just to big and cumbersome for me to try to print that out and
the follow the dotted lines. Good luck

What you're seeing is the standard
pedigree chart. A chart like you're suggesting, which would add all the
cousins, etc, would be very large and cluttered. There might be a program
somewhere that will list the sibs next to your direct ancestors (I sometimes
write this kid of info in on a printed report so I can see at a glance more of
the families in that time/place), but I can't imagine one that would show
cousins too (i.e., the sibs children), at least not for more than one or two
gens at a time.
You may find something similar that you like if you try the descendent
report. That one *will* show *all* descendents, so all cousins would be
included. But it's not a chart; more like an outline. I have seen
descendent reports depicted as charts (those kinds with squares for males and
circles for females), kind of like what you see for medical family histories.
I don't think Legacy does them, but maybe one of the add-on programs does
that? I haven't checked those out myself, but someone here may know.

I don't mind making the reports stem from me, as that is of course what I'minterested
in seeing. But the reports are only showing parents, grandparents, their
granparents, on up. What about my cousins or mynephews? Is there no
way to do a report that shows everyone I'm related to?Isn't that what a family
tree is? (I'm new at this, so I probably havemisconceptions.)
