May I butt in here?

I run many Rootsweb mailing lists that don't allow HTML formatted messages
to be posted to their lists. So what I do is turn off HTML in my Outlook
Express for all messages I send out but when I want to send HTML formatted
messages to someone I use the method described below to switch it on.

To turn off HTML for ALL messages you send you need to do the following:

1. Open Outlook Express

2. Click on Tools>Options in the toolbar

3. Click on the *Send* tab

4. Go down to *Mail sending format*

5. Check off *Plain Text*

6. Click on *Apply* in the lower-right-hand corner

7. Click on *OK*

This will then ensure that ALL messages you send are in *Plain Text* not
*HTML*

You may also want to do the following in the same window as above:

8. Uncheck - Reply to messages in the format that they were sent

What this does is stop you from sending a message in the format it was sent
to you. For instance, if someone sent you an HTML formatted message you
will be replying to it in Plain Text.

Take care

Jayne
