I leave intact the message thread for the past couple which DID come through
as html.  The problem is, in large part (ok, imho), AOL.  They presumably
have 24-hr toll free support available to their members... maybe you should
give them a call... find out their recommendations... try them out... if
they work, post them here... and ... well, if not... find another ISP? ;)

One, I have said several times I am well aware why people want it turned
off, and that I don't even have any desire to turn it on.  I have made no
argument with that.  Two, I have done all those steps.  I don't know why it
is not working. nAlthough, when people reply that html is still on, it is
hard to know which msg they are replying to, but I am assuming all of them
still are.  Frankly, I wrote my entire last msg in a text editor, in the
same font as AOL default, and pasted it in, so there could not have been any
hidden html formatting (at least I don't think, I'm not a computer expert).
This one I am writing from the email program.
