I have the same question.  I have just discovered the Sentence Override
feature and think it is *great*.  But it isn't clear to me what function the
Refresh Sentence button performs, because when I activate the override
feature, my changes appear in "real time" as I type the new sentence and
insert the field names whereever I wish.  On the other hand, I tried
modified the default sentence definition, and no changes registered, even
after clicking on the Refresh Sentence button, which is what I would have
expected it to do.
