It's a bit more complicated: Marriage is not only an event, it's more than that. Just like all individuals get an unique RIN, all Marriages get an unique MRIN. Events can be attached to Individuals (like birth, baptism) and Marriages (like divorce), Individuals can be attached (and vice versa) to Marriages as spouses and as children.
