Thanks Kirsten,

I am sorry I think I did not explain myself very well.

When entering the source I have entered information so that I have a
summary, comments and output marked with *. Later I have added a date
recorded thus adding a * to the details section. As a result I have what
seems to be the same master source listed twice against the event [BD or M].

When I open them they differ only by the addition of * in detail which all
information as the other one plus the recorded date [or citation].

However in my Master List there is only the one master source.

Not all records show this duplication so I accept that it must be something
I have done [presumably tried to add the recorded date to the individual
and somehow mucked up!].

I hope that is clearer.

Rgds Kay
